To our customers and communities,

Last year was exceptional in many ways. We made strong strides in our continual pursuit to be the best business-focused community bank in the markets we serve. Partnering with our clients to help them succeed is the best part of our job and why so many of us here at AmericanWest have spent our entire career as bankers.

In each of the past two years we extended more than $1 billion in new credit commitments—expanding relationships with existing clients as well as welcoming many new clients. This is a powerful example of how we're pairing our steady growth as a company with our focus on helping clients reach their financial goals.

We continued shaping our footprint through acquisition and organic growth last year. We entered Oregon and Northern California by completing the acquisition of PremierWest Bank; extended north of Salt Lake City by opening a new branch in Bountiful, Utah; and increased our Southern California density by purchasing eight branches from Banc of California.

Our hardworking, talented team delivers customized solutions and exceptional service to businesses, individuals and families and all with the community banking spirit our clients have come to expect. For example, community involvement activities are a vital element of who we are. In addition to contributing financial donations to many deserving non-profits, last year alone employees volunteered more than 6,300 hours at their favorite charities. If you're interested in knowing more about this initiative, I invite you to ask any member of our team for more details.

I am pleased to report AmericanWest Bank continues to be financially strong and well positioned for the future. Our balance sheet and other key financial indicators included in this report illustrate our financial strength.

We understand we must earn the right to serve you now and into the future by offering exceptional service along with consistent value and unmatched expertise. On behalf of our entire team, I welcome every opportunity to exceed your expectations.
